individual holds within them resources for healing. Therefore
the core principle of my therapeutic work lies in the view that the presence
of painful symptoms reflects above all a calling to change and grow, no
matter what the nature of the conflicts presented. It is this task that
is most difficult for each of us and most worthwhile in life.
My training includes a psychodynamic understanding of human behavior and emotions as well as training in the practice of hypnosis, hypnotherapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy and EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing).
An honors graduate of City College of New York, I earned a Master's Degree in educational psychology from City College School of Education before graduating from Columbia University School of Social. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New York, and am under contract with a number of managed care companies as an in-network provider. I am also a provider under Medicare.
I received advanced training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy at the Albert Ellis institute in New York City, as well as having trained directly with Frances Shapiro founder of the EMDR method for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder.
I have been recognized as a master hypnotist by The National Guild of Hypnosis and has received advanced training from and maintains active membership in the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. My specialty in hypnosis is in the reduction and elimination of pain and anxiety during childbirth, and surgery, as well as the reduction in the severity of chronic pain caused by major illness.
In my practice, I provide a rich, sensitive environment for personal growth and healing.
